Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Winsford-based mainstream high school as they are looking for a number of motivated and reliable teaching assistants to join their team and support pupils with an array of SEN (special educational needs) within a resource provision. This is a full-time long-term contract (32.5 hours per week) that will last the full academic year.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be based within the schools resource provision, working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to ensure that all needs of your new pupils are met including all aspects of their EHCP. You will be based within a small class of 17 pupils that have a variety of SEN that include ASD, LD, selective verbal, and mobility requirements. To ensure that all pupils reach their full academic potential, you will take a pupil-centred approach to their education, by supporting each pupil on a 1:1 basis, differentiating learning material and delivering it in a more digestible manner, ensuring that their individual academic and attainment needs are met. Other duies will include speech and language interventions, the use of PECs and Makaton, assisting with mobility and interventions and boosters in core subjects (KS1 and KS2 level).
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as relevant referenceable classroom experience, and:
- Have experience supporting SEN
- Have experience delivering speech and language interventions
- Be able to commit to a full-time long-term contract
