What might a typical week look like in this new role?
Before we go into that, it’s important to point out that this role could be called a range of job titles, and we don’t want to be prescriptive at this stage. We’re working with Oliver King Consulting as our trusted recruitment partners and they will support us in ensuring we consider a wide range of candidates to find the one that is most closely aligned with what we’re looking for, for the role right now and also for what the role will develop into as we achieve our growth plans.
So, what would I be doing day to day?
Lead generation – working from our data set including current key accounts, previous prospects and new companies to start prospecting straightaway introducing yourself as their new contact
Networking – heading out into the local community to represent TecSec at various networking and industry events, supporting Morton on the day when he’s delivering workshops and presentations
Client meetings – securing meetings for the team, ideally face to face (we like to build long-term in person relationships), with potential clients to showcase how we can keep their business secure
Innovation – a key element of this role initially will be to work closely with Morton to further develop the sales process and fully document it
Tenders – researching, collating data and completing tender submissions
The ideal candidate will:
have previous experience working within some kind of sales role or experience account managing key relationships
be keen (and enjoy) networking within the South Yorkshire area to expand our market presence and build relationships.
be adept at managing relationships of existing and prospective clients including keeping great records on CRM
understand the importance of working closely with marketing to achieve goals
Be local to TecSec’s office; we’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team!
Be ambitious! There is a lot of energy within TecSec and it’s important that this is matched by the next person joining them. We do see this role needing someone to support both sales and marketing in the not too distant future, so a passion for leading people is also something we’ll be looking for.
Be a horizon scanner, aware of what’s coming up in the industry that will impact on the business
Working in an SME, it’s important to know and understand that each and every member of the team plays a key part and rolls up their sleeves when needed!
If this sounds like just the challenge you’re looking for, then we welcome your application!
The first stage in our process is a Teams chat of 15 mins once some initial application questions have been answered.
