Summary

Graduate Learning Mentor – SEN Support Role

Looking to gain school-based experience before a career in education, SEN, or psychology? This is a great place to start.

*** Graduate Learning Mentor
*** £90 – £105 per day
*** September 2025 – July 2026
*** Secondary School Location: Walsall
*** Provide support to students with special educational needs

The Role
As a Graduate Learning Mentor, you’ll support students with a range of special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH. You’ll work across the school—delivering 1:1 mentoring, running small group sessions, and supporting students in class. Your focus will be on improving engagement, behaviour, emotional regulation, and academic confidence.

You’ll be involved in day-to-day pastoral care, liaise with the SENCO and teaching staff, and help implement personalised support plans. The role is varied, fast-paced, and ideal if you’re looking to make a measurable difference.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate—likely with a background in psychology, education, or youth work—who’s confident, calm under pressure, and motivated to support students facing barriers to learning. Any prior experience working with children, especially those with SEN or behavioural needs, will help you hit the ground running.

This role is particularly well-suited to those considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, or youth mental health.

The School
This inclusive secondary school in Walsall has a strong commitment to SEN and student wellbeing. The pastoral and SEN teams work collaboratively, and graduates are given structure, mentoring, and clear responsibilities from the outset. It’s a supportive school where you’ll be able to build confidence and gain relevant, hands-on experience across the academic year.

If you want to support students who need it most—and get your foot in the door of the education sector—apply now.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
