18.5 Hours, Part Time (days to be agreed)
Temporary, 12 months
Hybrid Central House with at least 1 day in the office per week as required

Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Stockport Family Business Support team, specifically supporting our Leaving Care Team.

You will be expected to support the team in their work with young people who have been in the care of the Local Authority and now are transitioning to independence, including getting their own homes, looking for employment and any other support they require.

This is a very varied role and is reactive to both the needs of the team and the needs of the young people. You will liaise with team members, young people and other colleagues within Stockport Family.

There will also be an expectation to provide back up support for our Reception Desk.

About You

We expect staff recruited at scale 4 to be hard-working, well-organised and to work well as part of a team. You will have a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service, with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. You will be able to empathise and be sensitive to the needs of the people using our services. You will have previous experience of dealing with customers and be able to prioritise your own workload.

You should be proficient in working with standard office IT applications including MS Office and with training be able to navigate in-house case management systems to retrieve and record information.

The Leaving Care team are an expanding team supporting young people who transitioning to adulthood after being in local authority care. The team work dynamically, reacting to issues which arise on a day to day basis and as business support you would supply them with the essential support they need to carry out their day to duties.

The role is very fast paced and requires excellent IT skills, good communication skills and ability to act quickly to situations for young people who may be in crisis.
