  • Manage and develop a specialist team: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SSC, including line management of specialist teachers and support staff, ensuring their professional development and well-being.

  • Collaborate effectively: Work closely with parents, mainstream teachers, external agencies, and the wider school leadership team to ensure seamless integration and support for SSC students.

  • Drive positive outcomes: Monitor and evaluate the progress of SSC students, implementing data-driven strategies to maximise their academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Advocate for sensory awareness: Promote understanding and awareness of sensory impairments across the school community.

The successful candidate will likely possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant specialist qualification in Hearing Impairment (HI) and/or Visual Impairment (VI).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

  • A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for making a tangible difference to young people's lives.
