This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, SEN professionals, or future teachers looking to gain practical classroom experience. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils with additional needs—including autism, ADHD, and social-emotional challenges—helping them thrive academically and emotionally in a nurturing school environment.
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities
• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, both 1:1 and in small groups
• Help implement behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
• Support the emotional wellbeing and social development of pupils
• Assist with adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant - Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a caring and dedicated graduate who meets the following criteria:
• Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject
• Genuine passion for SEN and supporting young learners
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Experience with children or young people with SEN (e.g., tutoring, youth work, mentoring, care roles) – desirable
• Interest in careers such as educational psychology, SEN teaching, counselling, or child development
