Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a committed team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with special educational needs. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of our pupils, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver and adapt high-quality lessons for pupils with a range of special educational needs.

  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each pupil’s specific needs.

  • Assess, record and report on pupil progress, working closely with parents, carers and external agencies.

  • Use a range of strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the SENCO and other colleagues.

  • Contribute to wider school life and maintain the school’s ethos of care and respect.

Ideal SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — experience or training in SEN education is essential.

  • Previous experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (e.g. autism, MLD, SLD, PMLD, SEMH).

  • A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teacher

  • A patient, resilient and nurturing attitude.

  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
