Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Evesham, Worcestershire
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is a 13-year-old boy who lives in Evesham and is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support during term time and non-term time.
Our client has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder along with other associated conditions and some behavioural issues.
Main duties:
Social duties:
keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
participate in fun activities.
do hobbies such as visit the park, swimming, baking, bike rides and play with Lego.
attend social activities like play centres and going out for lunch.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values: someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity.
Specific requirements: someone with an understanding of Autism. Someone with previous experience of working with children with autism.
Hours of work: 5 hours per week term time & 16 hours per week during school holidays.
Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour.
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
driving licence
car and appropriate insurance
knowledge & previous experience
able to swim
nursing qualification
confidentiality
good at building relationships
Preferred:
good communicator
a good listener
ability to support people with behaviours which challenge.
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
