The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) position is a pivotal role within our social care team, dedicated to safeguarding children and ensuring their well-being in the local community. As a LADO, you will be responsible for overseeing allegations against adults who work with children, ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to protect the most vulnerable members of our society. This role requires a highly skilled, compassionate and proactive individual who can effectively engage with various stakeholders, including agencies and law enforcement. You will play an essential part in facilitating a robust safeguarding process, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks and regulations. By providing guidance and support to professionals, you will advocate for best practices and contribute to the development of policies that prioritize child safety. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of child protection issues and the legal frameworks that govern them. The position also demands a collaborative approach, regularly liaising with other departments and external organizations. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage allegations made against individuals working with children.
Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding procedures to professionals.
Coordinate multi-agency meetings and ensure effective communication between all stakeholders.
Conduct thorough investigations into allegations while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity.
Provide training and support to staff on child protection policies and procedures.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of safeguarding policies within the organization.
Prepare reports and presentations for management and local safeguarding boards.
Requirements
Qualified social worker with relevant certification and registration.
Extensive knowledge of child protection legislation and best practices.
Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse groups.
Ability to manage sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality.
Experience in working within a multi-agency framework.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £38.80
