Summary
Manufacturing Electrician
Department: Engineering.
Location: Caerphilly (CF83).
Salary: £36,000 + annual bonus + yearly tool allowance.
Shifts: Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 16:00, Friday 07:00 - 12:30.
Acorn by Synergie are recruiting on behalf of a client who are a global top 10 steel producer for a qualified Manufacturing Electrician for a permanent position in Caerphilly.
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test.
As part of our close-knit engineering team, you'll report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and be responsible for keeping our plant and equipment running efficiently. You'll handle day-to-day electrical maintenance, carry out preventative work, and help implement improvements that make a difference to performance and reliability.
In this role, you'll:
- Maintain and repair machinery and support systems to reduce downtime.
- Carry out preventative maintenance to avoid unplanned issues.
- Support improvements to equipment and working processes.
- Play an active role in your own learning and development.
- Help deliver projects and upgrades that improve site performanceWork alongside colleagues across departments. and support third-party contractors when needed.
Your work will help ensure customer orders are met on time, safely, and to a high standard - contributing directly to the success of the wider business.
What You'll Need:
To be considered for this opportunity, you'll need to be a time-served electrician, ideally with a recognised qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
You should also have:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- A flexible, proactive approach with a focus on safety.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with PLCs and control systems (preferred but not essential)
- A commitment to continuous improvement.
