Summary
The Research Centres Administration Team is looking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to support the work across all four of our Research Centres:
Computer Science Research Centre
Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design
Intelligent Mobility Design Centre
Materials Science Research Centre
You will work with the rest of the Research Centres Administration Team to provide day-to-day operational support to the Centres, ensuring a high-quality visitor and customer experience and coordination of Centre needs.
This includes booking travel and accommodation, procurement of materials and equipment, processing financial and HR data, supporting event logistics, coordinating online and social media content, monitoring Centre inboxes, inducting staff and students and providing support to Centre Directors, Head of Research Centres and Research Centres Manager.
It is expected that the role will adapt to different ways of working across the four Research Centres and will assist colleagues according to the demands of fluctuating workloads, projects and research activity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Administrative experience of working in a dynamic business and customer focused environment with the ability to deal with a variety of issues with tact and sensitivity.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Experience in the use of financial systems and understanding of procurement and logistical processes and principles
Ability to successfully coordinate various strands of work
Ability to communicate well and with confidence to a diverse range of people both verbally and in writing, including external business partners.
Ability to manage and prioritise a heavy workload whilst retaining excellent interpersonal standards.
Awareness of standards for managing and protecting information, including information security and data protection principles.
The ability to use initiative, multi-task and work as part of a team.
A genuine interest in the work of the RCA Research Centres
This role is based at our state of the art facility at Battersea, with hybrid working. Fixed term until August 2026, working 0.8fte (28 hours per week).
