Glasgow | Salary up to £55,000 + Comprehensive Package

Imagine being at the heart of transforming Scotland's electricity networks. As a Quantity Surveyor based in our Glasgow office, you'll do just that, as an integral part of our team working on the Scottish Power Framework.

This isn't just another QS role; it's an opportunity to manage the financial success of diverse, cutting-edge energy infrastructure projects - from new overhead lines to critical subsea cables. You'll be the financial backbone, ensuring projects are delivered seamlessly, on budget, and to the highest quality, collaborating with talented project managers and engineers.

Your Impactful Responsibilities:

  • Mastering Costs: From initial estimates to final accounts, you'll ensure robust financial control.

  • Navigating Contracts: Expertly administer contracts (NEC, JCT), managing variations and claims.

  • Smart Procurement: Contribute to strategic procurement and tender processes.

  • Minimising Risk: Proactively identify and mitigate commercial risks.

  • Driving Value: Seek out and implement opportunities for cost savings and enhanced value.

  • Clear Reporting: Provide accurate financial reports and progress valuations.

  • Effective Subcontractor Management: Oversee and value works, ensuring compliance.

  • Building Relationships: Engage effectively with all stakeholders.

  • Ensuring Compliance: Uphold safety, regulations, and company policies.

What You'll Bring:

  • Solid Quantity Surveying experience, particularly within civils, utilities, or energy infrastructure.

  • Valuable experience with the Scottish Power Framework or similar utility frameworks.

  • A relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management); RICS accreditation is a significant advantage.

  • Sharp commercial acumen and a deep understanding of contract law.

  • Proficiency with financial software and MS Excel.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • A collaborative spirit, ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong initiative.

  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential for site visits.
