Marketing Apprentice
Primary Objective: Responsible for leading our marketing and communications strategy, managing brand, and driving engagement across all channels. You will play a key role in shaping the AKG brand in the UK, ensuring that our activity optimises both service delivery and business development. This is a strategic leadership role that requires a blend of creative and analytical skills, as well as an understanding of government contracting.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with AKG’s growth strategy
• Lead and manage the marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve departmental objectives.
• Oversee all external communications, including press releases, media relations, corporate website and crisis communications.
• Oversee all internal communications and channels.
• Oversee the creation of content, including digital marketing, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Manage the brand identity of AKG and sub brands, ensuring consistency across all platforms and communications.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to support business development efforts, including proposal writing and presentations.
• Coordinate with government partners to ensure all marketing and communications efforts comply with contract requirements and regulations.
• Utilise data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to optimise performance.
• Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring a high return on investment for all marketing activities.
• Foster strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders, including agencies, and community organisations.
Essential/Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Proven experience in a senior marketing or communications role, ideally within the public sector, employability, or government contract environment
• Experience of shaping, implementing and monitoring the impact of large projects across multiple departments of an organisation
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in public relations and media engagement
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful marketing and communications strategies
• Proficiency in digital marketing, including SEO, social media, and email marketing
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decision-making
• A strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Competent using a CRM, analysing data, collating, and sharing intelligence. Able to quickly identify problems, think flexibly and resolve issues
• Comfortable working remotely using a range of digital channels including phone, video conferencing, instant messaging, and email
• Good administration, IT and organisational skills with good experience of using MS office software.
