Summary
The aim of these posts is to provide the successful applicant with a tailored clinical post, whilst allowing them to develop their portfolio. The posts are to commence from August 2025. There are four clinical posts across the Digestive and Emergency Surgery Care Group. Each post will have a supervising consultant who will help develop a tailored clinical timetable depending on an applicants clinical experience and training needs. You will have exposure in outpatient clinics, operating theatres, ward rounds and MDT meetings. The posts come with providing support to delivering bedside and tutorial based teaching, providing mentorship and supervision of medical students. The appointees will take part in the general surgery on-call rota including night shifts and weekends, where applicable the post holder may be required to deputise for absent colleagues from time to time and to perform additional duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. The post holder will be required to be available exceptionally for such irregular commitments outside normal rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care. The post holder will be expected to keep themselves up to date with current knowledge & practice, to attend clinical meetings within the department & to participate in audit & in-service training of other healthcare professionals.
