Summary
The States of Guernsey are to appoint a Deputy Manager (Band 6) to work throughout Therapy & Enabling and Short break care within the Adult Disability Service (Committee for Health & Social Care). The post would be matched to a Registered Learning Disability Nurse or an RMN with learning disability experience. Short Breaks and Emergency care provides 24/7 support within 3 self-contained respite flats for adults with learning disabilities, complex need, and autism. Therapy and Enabling Including a drop-in service runs Monday to Friday and currently has approximately 40 service users for whom we aim to provide a wide range of structured activities and therapies.
The management team comprises a Manager (Band 7) and 2 Deputy Managers (Band 6's) and 5 Team Leaders. As a leadership team, you will provide practice leadership and deliver excellent person-centred outcomes, supporting a diverse team of HCAs/Band 3 and 4 Support Workers. The post holder will work alongside the MDT to implement best practice.
The post holder can be based in a variety of settings including the autism hub step down service, specialist residential homes, supported living, La Vieille Plage, and the outreach teams where cover is needed, however, the role advertised is substantively with Therapy & Enabling and Short break care.
