Hays are delighted to be working with one of our key clients within the social housing sector in recruiting a Gas Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Gas Engineer to take on an exciting new role.
Your new role
Your role will centre around repairs, planned maintenance and refurbishment works of the association's housing stock across an area of the West Midlands, particularly in the servicing and installation of boilers. Your role will be mobile with occasional travel into the office, and you will be responsible for:
- All aspects of the repairs process from initial works order, to completion of works.
- Producing detailed works orders using schedules of rates.
- Perform associated trade duties in line with your job role.
- Customer visits and on-site inspections.
- Coordination of materials and plant.
This is a Monday to Friday position, 40 hours per week, with a requirement to cover the on-call rota for one week in every three, which comes with additional renumeration.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will be an experienced Gas Engineer with strong technical knowledge and ability, with experience in residential and domestic properties. You will require ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, HTR1, CKR1), alongside your work experience, plus have a full UK driving licence. You must be proficient in installing, servicing and maintaining gas appliances in line with regulations, and ideally possess a relevant qualification in gas installation/maintenance. You will require strong attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a basic salary of up to £42,000 dependant on experience, plus other great benefits.
