Reporting directly to the Maintenance & Facilities Unit Co-ordinator you will ensure the effective delivery of a comprehensive property maintenance service for the Council’s non-housing property stock. You will be responsible for the supervision and management of a team of Property Inspectors ensuring effective planning, inspection, repair investigation and statutory compliance across a diverse range of public buildings. In addition, you will ensure full liaison with premises managers to discuss all aspects of planned and responsive maintenance works.

Applicants must hold an appropriate construction industry related HNC or equivalent and will have previous supervisory experience and relevant experience of all aspects of building construction, and current legislation thorough knowledge of building services engineering trades and techniques. Membership of a relevant trade body and experience of computerised works ordering systems would be advantageous.

Proficient in Microsoft office you will have the ability to work under pressure, and liaise effectively with managers, elected members and colleagues providing detailed reports and information as required, coordinating workloads, monitor inspections, manage budgets, and ensure statutory and policy compliance. You'll also be instrumental, maintaining accurate property data, and leading pre-planned, reactive and emergency works/projects.

You will assist in the management of minor improvement contracts and manage our annual condition assessment of council properties.
