Summary
Our Paediatric Occupational Therapy Teams have an excellent opportunity for two full time posts (one post for each area) to support delivery of therapeutic interventions for children living in North Tyneside and Northumberland. We are looking for two enthusiastic and highly motivated people who have experience and a passion to work with children to join our well established Paediatric Occupational Therapy teams.
The North Tyneside team is based at The Riverside Children's Centre in North Shields and the Northumberland team is based at Wansbeck General Hospital. We see children 0 -18 years with a range of physical difficulties including cerebral palsy and developmental coordination disorder who are experiencing difficulties to participate in activities of daily living.
Our teams are very welcoming, friendly and are well-established, who have the team's well-being at the heart of everything we do. We welcome new and enthusiastic minds to bring new ideas and innovation to help shape our services. This is a community post therefore car driver or access to transport is essential.
We are keen to support and encourage Continuous Professional Development to enhance skills and knowledge of individual staff members and to utilise skills within the team and shape service delivery. You will have ongoing supervision and an appraisal annually to identify your strengths and support your aspirations and work.

The successful post holder will work alongside qualified Occupational Therapists to support and work closely with our Allied Health Professional colleagues to deliver joint targeted treatment intervention goals individual for every child, across a number of environments. The interventions will include supporting the children to use their specialist equipment provided by the therapists to facilitate the children's play experiences and participation in activities of daily living, implement fine motor and activities of daily living interventions.
We are very supportive teams who work closely with all our other therapy colleagues and professional involved in the child's care to deliver a high-quality service to our families.
