Summary
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in the daily operations of our Public House. The Assistant Manager will help ensure excellent customer service, maintain a positive and efficient work environment and contribute to the overall success of the business.
Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the pubs operations, including front of house and back of house.
- Supervise and support staff, including training, scheduling and performance management.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
- Manage stock control.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the pub.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant licensing laws, health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities to attract and retain customers.
- Handle cash management including till reconciliation.
- Deputize for the General Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 Years Experienced.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a bar or restaurant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Good knowledge of beer, wines, spirits and pub food.
- Sound knowledge of licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale systems.
Personal Attributes
- Friendly and approachable with a passion for customer service.
- Well organised and detail orientated.
- Proactive and able to take initiative.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Working Conditions
- The role involves working evenings, weekends and holidays.
- The work can be physically demanding, requiring standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
- The environment can be noisy and fast-paced.
