If you are looking for a challenging role within a fantastic team to develop your career, this is the role for you!
The postholder will own and maintain the AUKUS Pillar 1 (P1) export controls strategy and work with a variety of stakeholders across Government to coordinate export controls advice to the programme. When required, the postholder will need to proactively identify where existing UK, US and Australian export controls polices and guidance need alignment with AUKUS delivery requirements. This may require working at pace with other cross-Government colleagues to develop bespoke advice for the programme.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with international colleagues as the successful postholder will have responsibility for providing secretariat support to the trilateral Export Controls Working Group. Responsibilities include ensuring appropriate UK export controls experts are available to attend virtual and in person meetings, managing meeting artefacts including the risk register, and driving forward the delivery of actions.
Additionally, the postholder will support other AUKUS P1 policy and international agreements work being conducted across the DNO to ensure that export controls equities are being appropriately considered and reflected. They will also need to coordinate an ongoing export controls training plan for UK colleagues working on AUKUS P1 programme.
The postholder will:
Own and maintain the AUKUS P1 export controls strategy.
Develop and maintain bespoke export controls policies and guidance for the AUKUS P1 programme with support from ECJU, DBT and I&IC DE&S.
Support the AUKUS Programme Board with export controls updates.
Provide the secretariat function for the export controls trilateral working group and co-ordinate trilateral priorities for export controls work.
Coordinate export controls policy inputs to other AUKUS policy areas and to the development of international agreements.
Plan and facilitate export controls training to AUKUS P1 programme staff.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Hybrid and flexible working can be considered for this post but will need regular workplace attendance due to security constraints. Candidates are encouraged to discuss options with the recruiting line manager before submitting an application.
