As both Digital Partner and/or Digital Delivery Partner we advise and assure business units and ALBs in developing their own GD&D capabilities, as well as taking on delivery responsibilities ourselves where relevant.

Our role is also to provide system leadership across the central government, pulling together back office services.

Collectively, we help support the Cabinet Office’s priority to drive efficiencies, and reforms that will make government work better, to ultimately provide a better service to the public.

The Cabinet Office is seeking a skilled and dynamic Contract Manager to oversee and optimise our Software as a Service (SaaS) platform agreements within the department. Your primary responsibility will be to manage specific supplier contracts effectively, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date while overseeing the delivery of all contractual obligations.

You will play a crucial role in leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of SaaS agreements to enhance collaboration and productivity across teams, ensuring alignment with the department's strategic goals. Additionally, your duties will extend to contract administration and providing support to senior commercial team members during meetings and forums, encompassing all aspects of contract management.

This position demands a strong eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage relationships with suppliers to guarantee the successful execution and optimisation of our contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Effective Contract Management, including monitoring and evaluating performance and working with suppliers to improve performance;
  • Undertake supplier monthly contract review meetings to ensure that contracts are effectively managed with appropriate reporting to management including reporting of contract performance indicators, analysis of performance data and applying appropriate measures to correct performance or non-compliance and budget/spend management;
  • Initiating and ongoing maintenance of the contract management plan including ensuring all stakeholders manage their obligations under the contract, including areas such as risk management and business continuity;
  • Managing contract values and cost model for specific suppliers;
  • Supporting commercial in ensuring an effective contract management system is in place;
  • Provide insight and information to the relevant steering boards, so that the service is managed holistically, ensuring the department is at the heart of all decision making;
  • Work with finance function to regularly benchmark the contracted service, and action any outcomes from the benchmark review;
  • Work with commercial team and the wider team on any pre-procurement and procurement activities, including identifying any commercial activity for inclusion
  • Minute taking at important supplier meetings and record keeping of all contractual documentation;
  • Liaise with the appropriate expert domains when appropriate and required, for example information assurance, Platform Service, Cabinet Office departments and more;
  • Contract exit and transition support.
