Summary

As a Lead Technology Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the performance of multiple teams working to deliver technology products and services. You will set up your teams for success and represent them to stakeholders and suppliers, building successful relationships across and beyond the organisation. You will find and remove blockers and inefficiencies, using data to continually push for better ways of working within and between teams, leading to better outcomes.

As a leader in the Home Office Technology Delivery community, you’ll share knowledge and experience with colleagues across the department and wider Government, building skills, advising others, and applying good practice and standards.

You will support the UK’s security and prosperity through the products and services that your teams deliver.

Due to business requirements this post is available on a Full Time/Flexible Working basis. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. Where this is the case, employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office.  Applicants can raise any queries to the email address at the bottom of the advert.

We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from the widest diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. We particularly encourage applications from women, people with disabilities and LGBT+ as they are currently under-represented in the Home Office at this grade level. Appointments will be made on merit based on fair and open competition.

Your main day to day responsibilities will be:

  • Take responsibility for delivery of technology products and services across multiple teams, facilitating and coaching in the most appropriate methodologies for complex, ambiguous situations. • Lead delivery within cost and time constraints, ensuring that realistic plans are maintained. Ensure regular, accurate communication with stakeholders and engagement with appropriate governance.
  • Develop and bring together motivated, functioning teams, empowering cross-team collaboration and joined-up delivery. Monitor the health of interactions between teams and resolve issues.
  • Ensure that risks are identified, their impact and probability are understood, and mitigations are in place, involving specialists where necessary.
  • Identify and understand stakeholder groups and their needs. Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and plans and lead teams in executing them.
  • Work proactively with suppliers involved in delivery, monitoring their performance, and collaborating to resolve issues. Help to improve supplier management processes.
