Summary
Are you fluent in Ukrainian and passionate about helping children thrive in the classroom? We are currently recruiting for a Ukrainian-speaking Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil who is new to English, supporting them to access learning and settle into school life.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey, helping them overcome language barriers and build confidence in a nurturing environment.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Ukrainian-speaking pupil with limited or no English
- Assisting with classroom tasks, translating instructions, and supporting understanding
- Helping the pupil engage with learning activities and develop social skills
- Working closely with the class teacher and EAL coordinator to track progress and adapt support
✅ The Ideal Candidate:
- Fluent in Ukrainian and English (spoken and written)
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
- A patient, empathetic, and culturally sensitive approach
- A relevant TA qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
