Summary

Are you a legal professional who has experience of working in civil litigation and ready for your next challenge?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer to join our well regarded, supportive, Staffordshire Legal Services Insurance Litigation Team where you will have opportunity to develop and grow your potential with us.

Main Responsibilities

You will have responsibility management of your own caseload of pre-litigated personal injury claims, litigated small claims (property damage), fast, intermediate and multi track personal injury claims.

The caseload will predominantly comprise public liability highways claims and you will have conduct of the claims from initial instruction through to trial, so an in depth knowledge of and the ability to apply the law relating to Highways/Employers Liability/Occupiers Liability is key for this role.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • undertaking all aspects of moderately complex defendant personal injury casework and representing the client department at all case related meetings and appropriate court hearings with limited supervision.
  • supervision and development of junior colleagues
  • adherence to the Legal Service Unit’s quality standards (Lexcel) including time recording in order to maintain professional standards
  • handling confidential data sensitively and securely in accordance with policy.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Legal Executive, Solicitor or Barrister with:

  • a comprehensive knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and the law relating to Highways / Occupiers / Employers Liability Claims
  • proven experience in managing moderately complex personal injury claims
  • an ability to clearly, confidently and effectively communicate
  • meticulous attention to detail
  • effective time management, prioritisation skills and ability to work under the demands of competing pressures
  • an ability to delegate work in order to generate capacity.
