Summary

This post is designed to allow a post MRCOG candidate with a strong interest in Urogynaecology to attain subspecialist accreditation in urogynaecology. The timetable will follow the requirements of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Supervision will be performed by Professor Vik Khullar / Mr Ruwan Fernando / Dr Alex digesu and Ms Alka Bhide directly. The exact timetable will depend on the requirements of the candidate but he/she will need to spend a minimum of 2 years, possibly 3 years in the post depending on the requirements for completion of structured training and the CCST together with Subspecialty accreditation. The subspecialty trainee will be expected to be involved in the management of women attending the Unit with disorders on the lower urinary tract and pelvic floor. He/she will also be required to participate in the research activities within the Unit and complete work suitable for presentation at both National and International meetings, and if not already done, to submit a thesis for a higher degree. He/she will also be expected to teach undergraduate, nursing and midwifery staff.
