We are thrilled to offertwo exciting Band 6 roles within our dynamic Adult SLT services atThe Royal London Hospital—a major tertiary centre for Neurosciences and Trauma—and acrossTower Hamlets Community.
Opportunity 1: Split Role – Stroke ED & Community
• Work with a renowned Community MDT that is recognised for its strong, embedded ethos of patient self-management and empowerment—helping individuals take control of their recovery and long-term outcomes.
• Deliver cutting-edge SLT from “clock start” in the ED, ensuring patients receive timely, specialist input at a crucial stage of recovery.
• Benefit from a service model currently under review for inclusion in the wider Band 6 rotation, offering future flexibility and career development.
Opportunity 2: Band 6 Rotational Post – Specialist Acute & Community Settings
This established Band 6 rotation offers adiverse and enriching experience across a wide range of specialist areas:
• Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) & Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (SRU)
• Neurology & Neurosurgery
• Rapid Access to Acute Rehabilitation (RAAR)
• Critical Care & General Medical Wards
• Tower Hamlets Community Neuro Team
• Potential to join the innovative Stroke ED & CST pathway
Build a broad, high-level clinical portfolio.
Rotate across diverse, complex caseloads in both hospital and community settings.

• To independently manage caseload of service users with acquired swallowing and communication disorders as a result of stroke.
• To use specialist knowledge to assess, differentially diagnose and provide SLT intervention and management to service users, with the support of more senior colleagues where required.
• To be actively involved in service development for Stroke Services and to contribute to the ongoing development of specialist clinical pathways.
• To deliver training / teaching to other staff members and students and reflect on and evaluate training provided.
• To supervise junior staff members as required and contribute to the supportive ethos within the team.
• To work closely with all members of the Acute and Community multi disciplinary team.
• To work flexibly in line with the needs of the service.
