Summary
As a tertiary referral centre for urological cancers, UHS provides expert care to a wide range of complex Urology cancer patients across the region. As a Prostate Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), youll play a central role in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the prostate cancer pathway. Youll act as the key worker for men diagnosed with prostate cancer, supporting them and their families from diagnosis through to treatment and beyond. Youll attend and contribute to the weekly Urology Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate treatment decisions. Youll lead and deliver the CNS-led prostate cancer results clinics, offering personalised care planning, treatment discussions, and emotional support at what can be a difficult point in the pathway. Youll provide expert advice and education to patients, carers and colleagues, supporting safe decision-making, self-management and ongoing care coordination across the system. What were looking forYoull need experience caring for patients with urological or cancer diagnoses, ideally with knowledge of the prostate cancer treatment pathway. Youll need excellent communication skills and the confidence to work autonomously while contributing to wider team and MDT working. You should have experience of holistic needs assessments, care planning and delivering nurse-led consultations. Youll need to be motivated, compassionate and committed to improving the patient experience. Additional InformationThe role is primarily MondayFriday, with no regular requirement for weekend or shift work. Youll be joining a well-established Urology cancer CNS team covering all urological cancers, where supportive working, collaboration and shared clinical responsibility are part of day-to-day practice.
