Summary
WHAT YOULL DO: The principal duties of these posts will be to: Be a member of the Lung and Gynaecology MDTs Participate in the management of patients with Lung Cancer and Gynaecological Cancers Attend the Lung and Gynaecology MDT meetings Share the Lung and Gynaecology patient referrals Provide medical oncology expertise to the Lung and Gynaecology services Plan and supervise Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies including chemotherapy and immunotherapy Conduct on treatment review clinics Supervise care of inpatients Engage in peer review meetings Participate in the recruitment and running of clinical trials Clinics will be primarily based at St Marys Hospital on the Isle of Wight a 266 bed hospital offering acute medical and surgical care, planned surgery and outpatient services to the population of 140,000. Visiting Oncologists are supported by Tumour site specific Specialist Nurses. As a University Hospital: All consultants are expected to actively participate in teaching and training of junior medical and nursing staff and allied health professionals All consultants are expected to clinically supervise junior medical staff Involvement in educational supervision is expected, subject to General Medical Council requirements Active involvement in co-ordinating education and training within the department is also encouraged WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR We are looking for dynamic individuals who are keen to work with the team to develop the Lung and Gynaecological oncology services to provide world class care to our patients.
