Summary

We are excited to be looking for a Caravan Licensing Apprentice to join our busy team here at East Lindsey District Council.



Never heard of Caravan Licensing before but interested to find out more? Do you like speaking to and meeting new people? Do you like resolving problems? Do you have good organisation skills?

What is Caravan Licensing?

East Lindsey District Council have a high concentration of caravans along the coast and in-land with a mixture of holiday and permanent residential sites. All sites are required to be licenced by the Council to ensure compliance with conditions which ensure that the health, safety and welfare of its occupiers is protected. All sites are inspected by the team and any non-compliance with the Licence conditions are dealt with through enforcement. The team also deal with any complaints made about the sites and will carry out any necessary investigations.



The duties will include:

You will be the first point of contact for our service; offering an exceptional level of customer service to ensure our customers experience is a positive one.
Processing applications for a Caravan Licences.
Maintaining and upkeep all records and systems accurately and efficiently, both manual and computerised.
Maintain an effective communications with customers, staff, and members of the public, including Elected Members, Town and Parish Councils etc.
Inputting and update complaints on the computerised systems used within the department within determined deadlines.
Assisting in the administration of orders and payment of invoices.
Extracting and compile statistical information as required from either (or both) manual and computerised records.
Filing, photocopying and other general office duties.
Dealing with personal, written and telephone enquiries and complaints and recording as appropriate.
Processing of incoming and outgoing mail.
Type letters and memo's as required.
Assist the Caravan Licensing Officers in the course of investigations.


We are seeking a forward-thinking, confident person who has excellent communication skills, (both written and oral) and with a high regard for accuracy and attention to detail. You will be able to adapt to a face-paced environment and have the ability to use your own initiative. You will be a competent IT user with familiarity of word, excel and email. Previous experience of working in an office environment would be advantageous, but not essential.



What training will you take and what qualification you get at the end?

Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
Functional Skills in maths, and English (if required)
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
