Summary
We're looking for someone who consistently works in line with the Leeds Way Values and behaviours, and who brings the following to this senior leadership role: Extensive OD Expertise & Strategic Partnership: A deep and extensive background in OD strategy, design, and delivery, with a proven ability to diagnose complex organisational issues and lead the implementation of highly effective, Trust-wide solutions. You'll approach OD delivery with a strategic, analytical, and solution oriented perspective, acting as a credible strategic partner to senior leaders, often influencing at Board sub committee level. You'll need a deep understanding of national and local NHS strategy, broader leadership frameworks, and other key guidelines (e.g., Our Leadership Way, NHS People Promise, NHS Long Term Plan) Subject Matter Expert & Innovator: You're seen as a leading subject matter expert in a range OD methodologies or specialisms (e.g., systems thinking, change models, psychometrics, positive psychology), bringing innovative approaches to complex challenges. Accredited Coach: You hold a recognised accreditation in coaching. Exceptional Interpersonal Skills & High Emotional Intelligence: Possessing exceptionally high self-awareness and empathy, you consistently foster psychological safety and trust. You have a proven track record at strategically managing conflict, coaching senior staff, and building resilience across all levels. Influential Collaborator & System Leader: You'll have a highly proven ability to influence senior leaders, from Board to Ward, and collaborate effectively across all professional groups (clinical and non-clinical) You naturally work across boundaries, co-designing solutions and valuing diverse perspectives, demonstrating a strong system leadership mindset. You are recognised for your ability to build credibility and influence at the highest levels. You will work closely and partner with our HR Business Partner (HRBP) colleagues to ensure integrated success. Strong Networker & External Ambassador: You possess an established and robust network of external OD suppliers, providers, and national/regional OD contacts, leveraging these for the benefit of the Trust. Strategic Improvement Specialist: Extensive experience in leading and driving significant organisational change, building readiness, and adeptly navigating complex stakeholder landscapes, including those with sensitivities. Curious & Reflective (Thought Leader): A deep commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement, staying keenly aware of cutting edge OD and NHS trends, and actively seeking feedback to continuously develop your approach and inform thought leadership. Systems Thinker: An advanced ability to understand complex systems, mindful of intricate connections between people, processes, and outcomes, and able to design interventions at this systemic level. Role Model: Embodies compassion, inclusivity, and accountability; a true role model for NHS and Trust leadership values, inspiring others by example.
