Summary

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career with a well-established, highly respected care home in Latchford, Warrington. Westy Hall are looking for a Senior Care Assistant who share our passion and enthusiasm to join our team on a full/part-time permanent basis, 24-36
hour position available, optional overtime, alternate weekends, shift times 20.00-08.00.

This role will suit a highly motivated and versatile team player, who is looking to expand their career, knowledge and experience within the health & Social care sector.

You will receive full support from the very beginning ensuring you are fully trained, competent and confident in the roles of Accredited Fire Marshal & First Aider. You’ll also receive and full induction of your role, along with competence and knowledge training to maintain a safe and supportive environment for effective medication administration.

We will also support you to achieve your NVQ L3 (if not already gained) in Health & Social Care this is a work based diploma qualifaction, funded learning programme which aims to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours

This role will suit a highly motivated and versatile team player, who possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must have experience in providing care services and able to work under own initiative.

What you’ll be doing;
Supervise and support staff to deliver the highest possible standards of care
Liaise with GP’s, Pharmacies and relatives and any other stakeholders as required
Carry out supervision using a variety of methods (including, face to face shadowing and spot-checking)
Support in training of junior and new staff members in all aspects of the care home
Demonstrate basic level of basic IT skills
Administer prescribed medications and maintain appropriate records in line with policy and procedures
Ensure care plans and risk assessments are maintained and always up-to-date
Maintain accurate record keeping, documentation and paperwork processes
Maintain excellent working relationships with residents, families and colleagues
Helping our residents with personal support and care
At all times set good standards and lead by example
Be familiar with all relevant company policies and keep up to date with any relevant changes to policy or procedure
To act in the best interests of the company at all times
Assist service users in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual). Provide attention when needed whilst ensuring service users retain their comfort and dignity.
Carry out regular checks on service users at intervals determined by senior staff members.
