We are seeking a dedicated Mailroom Supervisor, at HMRC Bristol to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our mailroom services.You will lead a team of operatives, ensuring an exceptional guest experience aligned with client specifications, while upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee all mailroom operations, ensuring services meet contractual and client expectations.

  • Manage and support mailroom staff, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

  • Ensure compliance with company and client policies, including health & safety, security, infection control, and COSHH regulations.

  • Wear appropriate uniform and PPE at all times.

  • Deliver staff training on operational, legal, and client-specific procedures.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure service standards and compliance.

  • Maintain and update mailroom software systems and complete administrative tasks as required.

  • Report building defects and equipment faults promptly.

  • Coordinate supplies ordering and distribution.

  • Liaise regularly with the client and attend team/client meetings.

  • Lead staff briefings and collect payroll-related information.

What you bring:

Essential

  • Previous experience in a mailroom environment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Proficient in using computers and relevant software.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • NVQ or equivalent qualification in facilities or support services.
