Summary
Join our dynamic Agriculture Department, home to a thriving 280-hectare mixed commercial farm (dairy and sheep), where learning is hands-on, and the connection between theory and practice is at the heart of everything we do. With access to a wide range of machinery and diverse landscapes—from arable fields to parkland—our learners benefit from real-world experience that prepares them for the future of farming and engineering.
As our student numbers grow and our curriculum evolves, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Land-based Engineering specialist to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons and practical sessions across a range of levels.
What you’ll be doing:
• Teaching land-based engineering and machinery-related units with a strong practical focus
• Collaborating with our Farm Manager to integrate real-time farming operations into your teaching
• Inspiring learners through hands-on experiences and industry-relevant content
• Supporting students’ development with a flexible, positive, and motivating approach
What we’re looking for:
• Significant vocational experience in land-based engineering or agricultural machinery
• Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills
• A passion for teaching and developing young people
• A relevant degree or equivalent qualification (desirable)
• Teaching qualifications (desirable—but we’ll support you to gain them!)
Why join us?
• Teacher training provided (Level 3 and 5) with a dedicated mentor
• Strong emphasis on staff development and CPD
• A supportive, forward-thinking team with strong links to the local farming community
• The chance to shape the future of agriculture in the South West
Whether you're an experienced educator or a skilled industry professional looking for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
