Summary

Established in 2005, Visit Peak District & Derbyshire (VPDD) is the an accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) partnered with Visit Derby. It has a strong track record and works in partnership with national tourism bodies such as Visit Britain and Visit England and other LVEP areas to maximise the profile of the County’s assets across the world.

Job title: VPDD Marketing Assistant
Salary: From £23,000 per annum
Based at: Chesterfield with agile working. Additional travel may be required
Contract: Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week)

1. WHY THE POST EXISTS

Are you passionate about travel and tourism? Do you have an interest in showcasing the Peak District & Derbyshire? Have you got a background in marketing? If so, you could be our next team member.

This newly created role will be part of the Visit Peak District & Derbyshire team, supporting content creation for the website, assisting with public relations activities, and arranging visits for journalists.

You will have a flexible approach, passion for travel and tourism, an understanding of the tourism industry, be adaptable, and willing to learn.

2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

- Content Creation – Support the development and management of engaging content for our website and social media platforms.
- Public Relations – Assist in the execution of PR campaigns, including drafting press releases and liaising with media contacts.
- Journalist Visits – Coordinate and arrange visits for journalists, ensuring they have a memorable experience in the Peak District and Derbyshire.
- Marketing Support – Provide general support to the marketing team, including administrative tasks and project coordination.
- Event Assistance – Help organise and promote events that highlight the region’s attractions and activities.
- Market Research – Conduct research to stay updated on tourism trends and competitor activities.

- Passionate – Genuine interest in travel and tourism, particularly within the Peak District and Derbyshire.
