The Head of Education Technology for the Defence Intelligence Academy will lead and deliver education technology future planning, contracts, project management and oversee implementation plans for education technology and digital services to the Academy. The incumbent will lead digital capability integration for the Academy and with stakeholders lead the IT security and Information Management within the organisation. This a new role that transforms the old Digital CIS Services role into new areas of the Academy business across 4 sites as the Academy moves from Initial Operating Capability in October 25 to new Full Operating Capability. This is a new role and over time the incumbent should expect to see responsibilities and priorities change.
The incumbent will also be responsible for planning the sequenced moves of technology and CIS capabilities to 3 new sites. The incumbent will be the main adviser to the Commander on technology implementation, project management and funding. The incumbent will staff, deliver and implement technological improvements across the Academy sites. As such the incumbent will be responsible for leading a defined set of projects associated with business change activities and ad hoc planning projects as they arise.
The incumbent will lead on site-to-site planning and project liaison with multiple MOD organisations and stakeholders. The incumbent will work directly to the Deputy Commandant whilst also working closely with the Commanding Officer Academy Support Unit on all service related digital activities.
The post holder will need to routinely engage with staff across multiple Defence Intelligence sites, and there will be regular travel required to other sites. The post holder will also need to maintain a network of commercial and business leads across Defence Intelligence to support their objectives.
The incumbent will need to work primarily at RAF Chicksands, with regular visits to other sites such as RAF Wyton, Hermitage, and Cosford.
Access to communications systems and a need for presence at various sites will necessitate attendance at a work site on average 80% of the week.
The incumbent will line manage 2 Higher Executive Officers (HEO) and 2 Executive Officers (EO).
