Senior Practitioner – Family Support

As our new Senior Practitioner – Family Support, you’ll lead a passionate team delivering life-changing support for children aged 0–19 (25 with SEND) and their families, helping them build resilience, thrive together, and access the right help at the right time.

What your week may look like:

Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to our Family Practitioners – Family Support, helping them deliver outstanding 1-to-1 and group support to families facing diverse needs
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for your locality, ensuring high standards of child protection and safe practice across your team.
Oversee targeted family support interventions, parenting programmes, and home visits, ensuring high-quality outcomes that make a genuine difference.
Support child and parent engagement in shaping their plans and services, putting families at the heart of decisions.
Drive innovation and best practice in family support, and work closely with health visitors, early years leads, and other agencies to provide joined-up, child-centred support.
Champion reflective supervision, team learning, and professional growth to build a high-performing, resilient team.

You’ll bring…

A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Childcare, Health or Social Care, and strong experience managing complex casework
Proven experience of leading family support teams, with a commitment to safeguarding and delivering impactful early intervention.
Confident, motivational leadership that nurtures growth, encourages innovation, and drives improvement.
Expertise in working with vulnerable families, running assessments, and managing parenting programmes or targeted interventions.
Skills in reflective supervision, performance management, partnership working, and safeguarding leadership.
A calm, solution-focused approach—and the flexibility to work across sites and lead services responsively.
