Are you enthusiastic about supporting children in a caring and safe environment? Chawson First School is looking to appoint a friendly, responsible, and proactive Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team.

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring our pupils have a safe, happy, and enjoyable lunchtime, both while eating and during play. You will help promote good behaviour, encourage positive social interaction, and ensure the well-being of all children in your care.

This is a hands-on role that also includes preparing and tidying the dining area each day. Experience working with children in a school or similar setting is desirable, but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing the dining area by setting out benches and tables before lunchtime begins.
• Clearing away all benches and tables after lunch and sweeping the floor to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Supervising pupils in the dining hall, classroom (if needed), and playground during the lunch break.
• Encouraging good table manners and helping younger children with their lunch as needed.
• Promoting positive behaviour and intervening in minor disagreements, following the school's behaviour policy.
• Leading and supporting playground games and activities that foster inclusion and active play.
• Ensuring the safety, welfare, and good conduct of children at all times, indoors and outdoors.
• Managing minor first aid incidents and referring to the designated first aider where appropriate.
• Reporting any concerns about pupil welfare, behaviour, or health to the Senior Leadership Team.
• Supporting pupils with special educational needs to ensure they are included and safe during lunchtime.

• Enjoys working with children and has a warm, caring approach.
• Is reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Is physically fit and able to manage the setting up and clearing away of lunch equipment.
• Can work well as part of a team and follow instructions from senior staff.
• Is confident in managing children’s behaviour in a positive, consistent way.
• Has good communication skills and a sense of initiative.
• Is able to stay calm under pressure and respond appropriately to situations.
