Murphy iDNO/iGT/NAV business is looking to expand their team with a permanent full-time Senior Engineer
- New Connections And Generation appointment.This role predominantly involves New connections, Capacity increase and Generations management, Asset Management, technical standards management and Design approvals, alongside other administrative duties relating to Utilities network distribution management system, enabling the effective and timely processing of ICP design approvals, capacity increase, POC and CSEP new connections applications, Generation applications and asset management.

A day in the life of a Murphy Engineer

- Where required meet clients (ICPs/Developers/Customers) to discuss requirements and agree how the works can be undertaken ensuring relevant engineering standards policies are adhered to.
- Manage the New connections and Design approvals and projects acceptance process, ensuring new connections and projects designs are approved and delivered on time, ensuring approvals are returned issuing queries and rejections within a timely manner, in line with the company SLAs.
- Managing HV/LV design for complex and large developments, attend all associated meeting leading all technical and design standards with key clients and stakeholders.
- Review customer requirements and provide a broad range of design services based on the customer scope of works and the location of the site.
- Fully managing the new (Point of connection) applications, Process, and Complete the POC and CSEP quotations offers to the iDNO and iGT network to external parties, customers and DNOs, supporting all capacity increase and decrease requests and reinforcement cost.
- Assess with complex Generation applications G98/99 and G100 applications and respond customers within agreed time scale.
- Responsible for ensuring that the service delivered by the business is in line fully with the requirements of the Electricity Act, Gas Board,
- NAV regulatory, Distribution Licence and industry codes and agreements.
- Ensure robust processes are in place to document regulatory accountabilities and ensure accountable managers discharge those accountabilities.
- Manage the governance of the distribution licence together with their associated documents such as Data Assurance Guidance and Regulatory Instructions and Guidance,
- Advise and support SHESQ Management team to discharge their Health & Safety & Quality responsibilities towards ICPs as defined by the network procedures.
- Carry out site quality auditing and inspections in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
- Support on standby and out of hours coverage of Gas and Electricity faults and emergencies.

- Must have experience working within utilities electrical and gas design environment.
- Candidates must demonstrably work knowledge of electrical as must, and preferably Gas and Water distribution network design and construction standards.
- Suitable candidates should also have good working knowledge of the CDM regulations and the role of principal designer as well as demonstrating excellent communication skills on a day-to-day basis.
- Experience in Utilities engineering, construction, Gas, Water and Electrical would be advantageous
- Understanding of faults, emergency, Non-Conformance reporting with Root Cause Analysis Knowledge, Inspection & Test Plans & Quality Plans
- General knowledge of Standard ICP Gas, Water, or Electricity construction.
- General knowledge of network operation and maintenance.
- Engineering, H&S relevant competency qualification to City & Guilds level required.
- MS package knowledge.
