Lecturer in Games Design

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Kidderminster College is a thriving college in the heart of the West Midlands. In August 2014 the College joined Newcastle College Group (NCG), one of the largest education and training providers in the country.

To meet our ambition of delivering an exciting and outstanding educational experience, we need an enthusiastic and inspiring lecturer to complement our teaching team on the UAL Games Design courses. The right candidate will have a proven record of high success, industry experience/knowledge and a strong desire to encourage learners to reach their full potential.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for an individual who is driven and committed to lively, student-centred teaching and is knowledgeable in the following areas:

  • Strong understanding of game design principles
  • Strong understanding of audience experience
  • High level of media literacy
  • Good understanding of the game development industry
  • Basic to Intermediate skill with film-making, Blender, Unreal Engine 5, Premier Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator


The successful candidate should be flexible and responsive to student needs, industry changes, be independent/proactive, and have excellent organisational skills. You will be a fluent and persuasive communicator - able to negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, including our current and future partners in the Gaming and Media industries.
