We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer with experience in conveying systems for the food processing industry. This role involves the design and development of belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, and other material handling equipment tailored to food production environments. The successful candidate will ensure all systems meet sanitary design standards, performance specifications, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop custom conveying systems including belt conveyors, inclined elevators, bucket elevators, and transfer systems for use in food processing environments.
• Prepare detailed CAD models, layouts, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent software.
• Work closely with the project, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of designs.
• Specify materials, components, and mechanical systems that comply with food safety standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, EHEDG).
• Perform load calculations, stress analysis, and other engineering evaluations to ensure equipment durability and safety.
• Evaluate and improve existing conveying solutions to enhance efficiency, hygiene, and maintenance accessibility.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop system layouts, provide technical input, and support pre-sales engineering when needed.
• Ensure designs meet applicable standards and regulations, including OSHA, ASME, and hygienic design principles.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the food or beverage industry with a focus on conveying systems.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical conveying principles, food-grade material selection, and sanitary design practices.
• Familiarity with drive systems, belt types (modular, flat, timing, etc.), and elevator mechanics.
• Knowledge of hygienic equipment design standards and clean-in-place (CIP) concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with automation integration (e.g., sensors, motors, PLC interface).
• Hands-on experience in equipment testing, prototyping, or commissioning.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
