A respected and expanding law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join its highly regarded public law children team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated solicitor to work on complex, meaningful cases while benefiting from hybrid working and strong professional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing your own caseload of public law children matters including care and
supervision proceedings
- Representing parents, guardians, and children
- Attending court hearings and advocating where appropriate
- Working closely with social workers, experts and external agencies
- Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements and quality standards
- Supervising junior team members where required (depending on experience)
Requirements:
- A qualified solicitor with at least 3 years’ PQE in childcare/public law proceedings
- Strong knowledge of care and related children’s legislation
- LAA Supervisor status is preferable but not essential.
- Strong advocacy skills
- Ideally, Children Panel Accreditation (or working towards it)
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a supportive, multi-office team
