The Governors of Ysgol Plasmawr, Coed-y-Gof, and Nant Caerau wish to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Family Engagement Officer to support our families across the three schools. This new role is innovative in offering a service to families in West Cardiff and provides a single point of contact and consistency throughout the educational journey of their children.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual to work with targeted families and include them in the learning process. The post holder will strengthen the links between the schools, parents, families, and the wider community in order to reduce the impact of poverty and disadvantage on educational attainment.
This role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as the successful candidate will be expected to work directly with hard-to-reach families.
The post holder will be able to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team within the schools.
We are looking for candidates who have:
• A high level of resilience to deal with a range of challenging circumstances
• Ongoing and successful experience of working with families
• Experience of working within a school environment as part of the role, including supporting specific children and families across the school
We would like them to be:
• Patient and caring
• Positive
• Proactive and eager to be part of a team
• Professional at all times
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
