Summary

Maintenance Operator

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

Hourly Rate: £15.00

Are you a practical, hands-on person who takes pride in keeping buildings running smoothly and looking their best? If you’re reliable, versatile, and enjoy fixing things, this could be the perfect role for you.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Operative (Handyperson) to join our team, supporting the day-to-day upkeep of the company building.​

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone with strong practical skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and repair work.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for carrying out general repairs, upkeep, and small projects across the building, including:

General handyman duties
Basic plumbing and joinery
Painting and decorating
Minor electrical tasks (e.g. changing bulbs, resetting fuses)
Office moves and furniture adjustments
Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
Keeping plant rooms and maintenance areas tidy and organised

You’ll be the go-to person for keeping the workspace safe, functional, and presentable for colleagues and visitors alike.

About You

Experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role
Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools
Can work independently and take initiative
Good time management and problem-solving skills
Friendly and professional attitude when interacting with building users
Basic understanding of health & safety practices
