Summary

We're looking to recruit a Homelessness Prevention Officer in Liverpool on a temporary contract for a minimum of 3 months, paying up to £24.81 per hour. This is a full-time role, required to work 1 in every 6 weekends with 2 days rest the following week, and will be working a rotating rota between the hours of 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm and 12pm to 8pm.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in working directly with vulnerable individuals who are or are facing homelessness, with a strong knowledge of Housing & Homelessness law, safeguarding policies and best practice, the welfare benefits system and mental health.

Your new role

  • Manage your own caseload, providing intensive support and practical help to assist in sustaining their tenancies and reduce the risk of homelessness
  • Carry out risk assessments and safety planning, identifying any risks or possible concerns and co-creating trauma-informed support plans with individuals or third party agencies to be reviewed regularly
  • Enabling access to various external agencies and community resources, services and opportunities
  • Maintaining good relationships with landlords, stakeholders and other agencies to ensure high-quality, wrap around support for all tenants
  • Providing practical help and advice regarding benefits and housing options

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of working with vulnerable individuals at risk of homelessness with a good understanding of housing & homelessness law and legislation
  • Good level of understanding regarding safeguarding policies and best practice, mental health, substance and/or alcohol misuse
  • Experience of completing risk assessments and support planning using trauma-informed practice
  • Good understanding of welfare benefits and ability to provide advice and practical help
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident in managing own diary and lone working
