Crynodeb
Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making.
At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.
Job details
We are looking for a dynamic, inspirational and motivational Visitor Experience Manager to join our team at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, taking the lead in developing and enhancing the visitor experience, as you inspire the team to continually exceed our visitors’ expectations.
Hinchingbrooke Country Park is a well loved spot within the heart of Huntingdonshire, visited by over 200,000 people annually, and with recent planning approval to deliver a new, purpose built, visitor centre, car park and café within the next year, there will inevitably be exciting opportunities for the post holder to shape and influence the future of our commercial offer on site.
About the role
You will be working alongside the Commercial Manager and wider team to develop the on-site experience for visitors, unlocking the amazing heritage of the site, sharing stories of the wildlife that calls it home, and working with the communities that work to protect this space for future generations.
You will be responsible for the leadership of the café and gift shop team, as well as the delivery of our on-site conferencing. There will be plenty of opportunities to be enterprising, get creative and try innovative approaches, all in the name of delivering a world-class visitor experience, from before a visitor arrives to the moment they depart.
About you
You will be an enthusiastic, collaborative and organised individual with excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building qualities. With a passion for putting the visitor at the heart of decision-making, you will utilise data and evidence to test assumptions that will ultimately lead to better outcomes. Having an eye for detail, that often gets overlooked at outdoor visitor attractions, you will be obsessed with ensuring the park is always presented well and no stage of the visitor journey is forgotten.
This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
