Summary

37 Hours over 5 days including weekends and evenings



Derwent Hill is a busy, friendly Outdoor Education andamp; Training Centre set in idyllic surroundings in Portinscale, just outside Keswick, Cumbria. We provide high quality residential outdoor education courses for schools, colleges and youth groups, as well as corporate training events and group accommodation for adults. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, homely atmosphere, good food and inspiring setting.



The role of Chef is to provide nutritious and exciting meals for all our visiting clientele with all dietary requirements considered and catered for. Our Chefs are ambitious, enthusiastic and driven to create quality food, and work as part of a close-knit team. Good communication and a willingness to give support to the Head Chef and team members. Our Chefs ensure the clientandrsquo;s needs are met, and centre standards are withheld, throughout all service and preparation.



At Derwent Hill part of the experience for our clients is the enjoyment of healthy, filling meals throughout the day. Strong customer relations and excellent people skills are necessary in the role of the Chef. Clients, especially our school visitors are often face to face and good relations are important. Being proactive in ensuring that the statutory requirements pertaining to Health andamp; Safety, Hygiene Standards and environmental health are consistently met to a high standard.



The role requires our chefs to use their initiative to order stock and reporting any shortages or maintenance requirements to the Venue Manager. At Derwent Hill our staff work closely across all departments, and we have an excellent andlsquo;whole teamandrsquo; spirit.
