Nursery Room Leader – Baby Room (Level 3 Qualified)
Salary: Up to £31,000 per year (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week | Full-time
Our client, a much-loved and well-established nursery, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Room Leader to take the lead in their baby room. This is a wonderful opportunity for a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner who is passionate about giving babies the best start in life, and who thrives in a caring, child-led environment where curiosity and connection are at the heart of everything.
Set in a nurturing and fun-filled space, the nursery promotes a warm, inclusive culture and encourages child-led play through thoughtfully planned experiences. The baby room is calm, well-resourced, and designed to support the individual routines, care needs, and early development of babies aged 3–18 months.
The Room Leader will guide a small team, creating a safe and loving space where babies are supported in their early milestones. The ideal candidate will be confident in leading others, planning developmentally appropriate activities, and building trusting relationships with parents and colleagues alike.
What You’ll Need:
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a nursery or early years setting, ideally with babies
- Leadership or senior practitioner experience is desirable
- Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development, especially under twos
- Excellent communication, organisation, and team leadership skills
- A nurturing, dependable, and proactive attitude with a genuine love for working with children

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily running of the baby room, ensuring a calm, caring, and safe environment
- Plan and deliver engaging, sensory-rich, age-appropriate activities following the EYFS
- Provide responsive, nurturing care to meet the emotional and physical needs of each baby
- Support and mentor a small team of practitioners, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture
- Monitor and assess children’s development, maintaining accurate records and learning journeys
- Build warm, professional relationships with families to support continuity of care
- Ensure all safeguarding, hygiene, and health & safety standards are met consistently
