Opportunity Overview

The School of Health and Society is looking for a Technical Manager to lead our specialist facilities and technical teams.

As one of the UK’s largest providers of nursing, midwifery, and allied health professional education, the School of Health and Society at the University of Salford is proud of its strong industry partnerships and commitment to producing highly skilled, work-ready graduates.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Technical Manager to oversee our technical staff and manage the specialist facilities and equipment that support our Allied Health subject areas. This is a pivotal role ensuring our operations meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service excellence.

We’re looking for someone with a broad understanding of specialist technical equipment in a healthcare education setting, who is ready to contribute to a growing and ambitious School.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing technical teams and ensuring compliance with health and safety through audits and inspections.
  • Overseeing the maintenance, servicing, and replacement of specialist equipment.
  • Leading the development and delivery of our service user clinic provision.
  • Contributing to the School’s estate strategy, including preparations for our new Health and Wellbeing building opening in 2026.
  • Playing an active role in the School’s Professional Services Leadership structure, shaping governance and policy
