About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Lecturer to join our academic team on a temporary contract. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective English lessons, supporting students to develop their language, literature, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with curriculum requirements
- Assess, track, and report on student progress and achievement
- Provide academic support and guidance to students
- Develop teaching materials and resources to enhance learning
- Participate in team meetings, quality assurance, and staff development activities
Requirements:
- A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Experience teaching English at [further/higher] education level
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to inspire and support learners with diverse needs
Desirable:
- Experience working in FE/HE sector
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and blended learning methods
- Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learner needs
