About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will:
- Responsible for the collection and delivery of biosolids to designated field and storage tipper locations throughout Devon and Cornwall.
- Operate vacuum tankers for the collection and transportation of liquid waste.
- Occasionally required to operate low loaders for the transportation of mobile plant and equipment.
- Maintain regular communication with the transport coordination team to provide progress updates and ensure customer expectations are effectively managed.
- Navigate rural routes, including off-road driving to farms and remote collection sites, requiring a high level of driving skill and awareness.
- Work within the agricultural sector, supporting environmentally sustainable waste management practices.
- Plan and optimize daily routes to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service through direct interaction with clients both in person and over the phone.
- Liaise daily with farmers to coordinate delivery schedules and manage stock movement efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with the Land Management team to support operational goals and compliance with environmental standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Hold a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of working with Tipper/Hooklift or telehandler vehicles is advantageous but full training will be given.
- Excellent organisation skills and use to working to deadlines.
- Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Confident, polite and a team player.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the local area.
- Due to the nature of the role applicants must be hardworking and self-motivated.
